Chester County, PA Real Estate and Community Information
Since Chester County Real Estate had its beginnings in 1682, this area has been in the center of United States history. It was the earliest Christian colony to be in the province of Pennsylvania, developed by William Penn himself. The land was named after Chester England. During the Revolutionary War, Chester County took center stage with the Battle of Brandywine, where on September 11th of 1777 the Americans lost to the British under command of the General George Washington. It was during that time when George Washington called Valley Forge home. During the Civil War, Chester County was not united as an area for President Lincoln and the union, or the South either. Public speakers and newspapers added to the conflict, making this area truly a brother against brother battle ground. Again in World War Two attention was brought to this part of Pennsylvania, as it was the home of the largest military hospital, the Valley Forge Army Hospital.
